Garnett Cross, commonly known as Sgt. Pepper, is a talented keyboard player from the UK and the youngest brother in a successful family of musicians. He is the sibling of notable artists Sandra Cross, Victor Cross, Hector Cross, and Derrick Cross, who have all made significant contributions to UK Lovers Rock and Reggae music. Garnett began his musical journey at the age of nine, learning to sing, play keyboards, and drums. He quickly progressed and played professionally with the Brixton-based band Aquizim. His recording career began with the South London-based record label Studio 16, owned by Winston Edwards, where he made his debut as a DJ (toasting) on the B-side of Sandra Cross’s hit single “I Just Don’t Care.” At just 15 years old, he furthered his career at Ariwa Records with the renowned Mad Professor, where he sang and composed the single “Come Back Again,” which marked the launch of the Ariwa label. Garnett contributed to numerous songs that are now considered foundational pieces of reggae music. His album “Judgement Day” showcased his songwriting skills, featuring releases such as “True-True Loving,” “Time Of My Life,” and “Magnet,” along with a series of solid songs released on the Ariwa Records label.
