Shannon is an American singer-songwriter born on May 2, 1958, in Washington, D.C. She gained fame in the mid-'80s with her hit "Let the Music Play," a trendsetting dance classic that contributed to the foundation of the '90s electronica music genre. In 1998, Shannon collaborated with German producer Sash! to release "Move Mania," marking the beginning of her comeback. She followed this with remixes of "Give Me Tonight" and "Let The Music Play" in 1999 and 2000, leading to the release of her album The Best Is Yet To Come in the US in 2000. Shannon should not be confused with (aka Marty Wilde).
