**Shark Vegas Bio** Shark Vegas was formed in early 1984 by founding members Mark Reeder and Alistair Gray, who decided to change their band's name and image due to a new lineup that included Leo Walter and Helmut Wittler, previously from the band Soif De La Vie. The band lasted for only one year and recorded a live tape along with one single, "You Hurt Me," which was released on Factory Records (FAC 111) and on Die Toten Hosen's label Totenkopf (TOT 11) in Germany. The demo for "You Hurt Me" was initially recorded at Harris Johns studio in Berlin and later taken to Conny Plank's studio in Cologne for mixing and co-production by New Order's Bernard Sumner during a break from their tour. The Cologne session faced challenges as the studio engineer was suffering from a serious back problem, requiring him to lie in front of the mixing desk while giving instructions in between bouts of pain. To update the B-side, Mark, Alistair, and Bernard remixed the track in England, resulting in "You Hurt Me... But Now Your Flesh Lies Rotting In Hell" for the UK release. Bernard contributed additional guitar, and Donald Johnson from A Certain Ratio added backing vocals. Mark Farrow designed the artwork for both the English and German versions of the single, which are notable examples of his early record sleeve designs.
