Shaun Cassidy (born September 27, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, USA) is an American singer, actor, and TV producer. He is the eldest of three sons born to actors and attended Beverly Hills High School. Inspired by the success of his half-brother, Cassidy became a major teen idol in the late 1970s, releasing several successful singles. His first single, a cover of "Da Do Ron Ron," reached #1 in the USA in 1977, followed by two more top ten hits with cover versions of "That's Rock 'N' Roll" and "Hey Deanie," both released in 1977. In 1978, he starred opposite Parker Stevenson in the popular "Hardy Boys" television series, which ran for several seasons on ABC-TV. Cassidy made his Broadway debut in 1993 in a production of "Blood Brothers." As a TV producer, he created the short-lived FOX action/adventure series "Roar," which starred a then-unknown actor. His other writing and producing credits include "Cold Case," "The Agency," and "American Gothic," as well as the 2005 ABC series "Invasion." Cassidy has two children from his first marriage to model Ann Pennington and one child from his second marriage to actress Susan Diol. He married his third wife, producer Tracey Turner, on August 28, 2004, and they have two children together.
