Sherrick was an R&B singer and balladeer born on July 6, 1957, in Sacramento, California. He was given his professional break by the former wife of Motown founder Berry Gordy. Sherrick was once a member of a Motown group that recorded a track for the movie 'The Last Dragon.' Unfortunately, his promising career was derailed by cocaine addiction, leading to erratic behavior and frequent disappearances that caused issues with Motown executives, who eventually chose not to work with him. Sherrick passed away on January 22, 1999, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 41. He is survived by his widow and three children.
