Shriekback is an English post-punk band formed in 1981 in Kentish Town, London. The founding members included Dave Allen and Barry Andrews. In 1984, drummer and percussionist Martyn Barker joined the band after touring with them and participating in various sessions. Following the release and touring of their 1985 album, Marsh left to pursue a solo career. Before the band began recording for their attempt at a successful pop album, Allen departed, leaving Andrews as the only original member and main songwriter. Dave Allen re-joined briefly in 1992 and again for the fan-financed mini-album in 2003. This album also featured Carl Marsh, who returned as a guest and later became a full-time member in 2015.
