Shrimp Boat was a defunct band from Chicago, formed in 1985. They are recognized as precursors of the post-rock genre. The band disbanded in 1993, shortly after releasing their LP "Cavale." In 2004, a label released "Something Grand," a compilation that features tracks from their career, with almost all of them being previously unreleased.
