Sibylle Baier is a German folk singer and actress known for her musical talents, which gained recognition with the 2006 release of her album Colour Green. This album was compiled from songs she recorded in the early 1970s. Baier began writing music after a road trip across the Alps to Genoa, where she wrote her first song, Remember The Day. In addition to her music, she appeared in Wim Wenders' 1974 film Alice In Den Städten (Alice In The Cities) and her music was featured in Jochen Richter's Umarmungen Und Andere Sachen (1975) and Wim Wenders' Palermo Shooting (2008). Despite her artistic abilities, Baier chose not to pursue a career in acting or singing and eventually moved to America to focus on raising a family. The songs that comprise Colour Green were originally recorded on home reel-to-reel tapes in Germany between 1970 and 1973. Approximately thirty years later, her son compiled these recordings into a CD as gifts for family members, which he also shared with Dinosaur Jr's J Mascis. This led to the album's release by Orange Twin in February 2006. Baier is expected to release a second studio album.
