The Side Of The Road Gang was a country rock band formed in the 1970s in Dallas, Texas. Known for their extensive travels across the United States, they performed at various venues, including the legendary Gilly's. The band recorded their only album at American Studios in Nashville. The original lineup featured Richard "Dick" Kasper on lead vocals and guitars, Steve Narren on drums and percussion, Richard Keithley on bass, Philip "Radar" Watkins on keyboards and backing vocals, and Hiroshi "Mike Ito" on fiddle and mandolin. David Patton contributed to the band by writing a couple of songs for the album and occasionally played with them in the early days, although he rarely toured or recorded with the group.
