Sidestepper is a music project that began in the mid-1990s, initiated by producer Blair. He worked for a record label in the early 1990s, where he collaborated with Colombian legend Shakira. In 1993, he moved to Colombia to work with her and has remained there since. Through his experience as a producer, Blair connected with numerous talented musicians, singers, and writers, leading to the evolution of Sidestepper into a full live band. They signed to a record label in 1999 and released two influential albums: "More Grip" in 2000 and "Supernatural" in 2003. The latter produced a significant hit in Colombia, establishing Sidestepper as pioneers of a new Latin beats movement. Many musicians and singers from Sidestepper later found success with bands such as Chocquibtown, Bomba Estereo, and Sistema Solar.
