Sidney Pinchback is a US soul and funk musician, songwriter, arranger, and producer, born on October 30, 1942, in Danville, Virginia. He co-founded the R&B group The Xciters in the early 1960s. By the early 1970s, Sidney moved to Los Angeles, where he formed the group South Shore Commission with other Chicago musicians. Throughout his career, he collaborated with notable artists such as Billy Stewart, The Dells, Alvin Cash & the Crawlers, the Rotary Connection, saxophonist Monk Higgins, and the late Charles Stepney. Sidney was also a co-writer and session guitar player on numerous songs recorded in Chicago during the mid to late 1960s. He is the brother of an unspecified individual.
