Siegmar Fricke is a German experimental and electronic artist known for his contributions to the fields of musique concrete and post-industrial music. Beginning his career in 1981, he experimented with short-waves and acoustic noises, becoming an active figure in the worldwide cassette culture. He ran his own label and released a wide range of music spanning experimental, EBM, electro, techno, and ambient genres from 1985 to 1993. Later, he embraced netlabels for digital releases, often making his work freely available. Since 2009, he has focused primarily on his solo output, and in 2013, he reactivated his popular collaboration with Dieter Mauson.
