Matthias Frick, known by his stage name Sieren, first self-released music in 2011, drawing on his mother’s maiden name. With a musical journey that began in the mid-2000s, he initially explored the sun-kissed sounds of trance before adopting his current alias in the early 2010s and immersing himself in the dreamy realm of post-dubstep. Sieren has released music on notable labels such as R&S Records and Christian Löffler’s Ki Records. His recent works on the imprint Friends of Friends showcase a melting-pot approach, blending various styles into something entirely new—combining 8 a.m. rave energy with 11 p.m. ambience, bridging the years from 1992 to 2025, and merging influences from both sides of the Atlantic. His music captures the essence of field recordings from a club night that never happened.
