Silver Linings is a Melbourne-based R&B/Boogie group formed by vocalist Françoise D'Argent, guitarist/bassist Lachlan Peavey, and keyboardist/producer Benny Badge. The duo of Françoise and Benny began collaborating in 2013, leading to the creation of Silver Linings as a side project for Records. They gained attention with a single featuring Floridian vocalist Ale Chambers, but it was their 2016 debut album that brought them wider recognition. Partially recorded in Manchester, the debut album was influenced by the city's blend of synthetic jazz and electronic music. The sound was enhanced by contributions from Harvey Sutherland and Silentjay, with Lachlan later joining the group after graduating from Melbourne's VCA Jazz program. This new lineup became a driving force for the trio, leading to the recording of their sophomore album in 2017 and subsequent tours in the UK, Europe, Russia, and the US Bay Area. Silver Linings has received nominations for Best Soul/Funk/R&B Album at The 2017 Age Music Victoria Awards, achieved #4 bestselling album status at Juno Records, #6 R&B bestseller on Beatport, and was included in Vinyl Factory’s Top 10 Vinyl Releases in January 2017.
