Silvia Bolognesi is an acclaimed Italian double bass player, composer, and arranger, renowned for her dynamic contributions to the jazz and improvisational music scenes. A graduate of the R. Franci Institute in Siena, she honed her jazz skills at the Siena Jazz Academy, studying under luminaries such as Paolino Dalla Porta and Furio Di Castri. Her musical journey has been profoundly influenced by collaborations with icons like William Parker, Muhal Richard Abrams, and Roscoe Mitchell. In 2010, Bolognesi was honored as "Best New Talent" by Musica Jazz magazine and received the "InSound" trophy for double bass. She leads several ensembles, including the Fonterossa Open Orchestra and Young Shouts, and is a member of the international string trio Hear In Now.
