Simon Goodridge, born in Kent, UK in 1960, migrated to Fremantle in 1965. He formed the band Silent Type in 1981, which was later renamed The Never Never in Sydney in 1983. Goodridge returned to Perth in 1986 and moved to Gothenburg, Sweden in 1991, where he performed in Britain, Scandinavia, Germany, and France. In 1993, he returned to Fremantle to form Spacecake, followed by the Kahuna Twangsters in 1996. From 2000 to 2006, he recorded samples as Uberman and played lead guitar in friends' bands from 1996 to 2016.
