Simon Scott (b. 1971) is a British mastering engineer, sound artist, and multi-instrumentalist based in Cambridge, UK. He is known for his work as the drummer for Slowdive and has released several albums, including his debut for 12k, "Below Sea Level," in May 2012, which was later reissued by Touch in 2015. His music explores the aesthetics of active listening, sound timbres, and compositional materials, blending digital signal manipulation, micro-melodies, minimalism, and environmental sounds with organic acoustic textures. Scott's interests span sound ecology, music technology, digital media, illustration, photography, composition, and sound art. In 2016, he released "Floodlines," a live recording from a performance at London's Cafe Oto. Since the late 1990s, Scott's work has been featured in international films, sonic art exhibitions, dance productions, and multimedia projects. He has toured worldwide since 1988 and was part of Slowdive during their collaboration with Brian Eno on the "Souvlaki" album. His track "For Martha" appeared on Kompakt's Pop Ambient 2012 compilation series. Scott's music has been released on various respected labels, including Morr Music, Miasmah, Slaapwel, Sonic Pieces, and Ghostly International.
