Single Gun Theory is an Australian music trio consisting of Jacqui Hunt, Pete Rivett-Carnac, and Kath Power, originally based in Sydney. They released their debut album, "Exorcise This Wasteland," in 1987 through the Canadian label Nettwerk Productions. Their second album, "Like Stars In My Hands," came out in 1991 and was inspired by the duo's travels through India, Kashmir, Turkey, and Southeast Asia. The album received critical acclaim worldwide, achieving Top 40 success in Australia and becoming one of the top ten dance albums of 1992, earning a diverse fan base that included musician David Byrne and filmmaker Peter Weir. Single Gun Theory composed the soundtrack for Kriv Stenders' award-winning documentary film "Motherland," and their music featured in films such as "The Heartbreak Kid" and "Reckless Kelly." They also created theme music for ABC-TV's national arts program "Review" and SBS-TV's "Nomad," contributing to various other film and video projects while remixing for Sony Music Australia and other labels. In 1994, they released "Flow, River Of My Soul," which gained them thousands of new fans and earned ARIA nominations for Best Independent Album and Best Dance Album. In 2000, they completed the score for the film "The Monkey's Mask," directed by Samantha Lang, which received an APRA nomination for Best Soundtrack Album.
