Sir John Roberts was a US singer, trumpeter, songwriter, arranger, conductor, and orchestrator, born in Houston in 1941. He was discovered in 1965 by Bob Garner, a talent scout for Don Robey, which led to a contract with Duke Records. His most notable recording is "Sockin' 1-2-3-4." Later in his career, he served as the Head of the Music Department at Centennial High School in Compton, California. Sir John Roberts is believed to have passed away on September 26, 2023.
