Sister Audrey, born Audrey Litchmore (née Donegan), is a legendary figure in the reggae music scene, best known for her iconic Roots Reggae classic "English Girl." This song, first written and recorded nearly 40 years ago, was one of the initial tracks recorded at the new Ariwa Studios in Peckham and was originally released on Jah Shaka’s label following its overwhelming response at dances. "English Girl" has recently gained renewed significance as the anthem for the Windrush Generation, particularly highlighted by the verse: “Now 40 years later, we must go and get some papers.” Sister Audrey began her musical journey in 1983 as part of ‘The Ariwa Posse’ alongside the renowned ‘Mad Professor’ and has since achieved international recognition, touring and supporting legendary reggae artists such as Lee Perry, Max Romeo, U Roy, and Macka B. Her discography also includes notable singles like "Africa is Zion," "Children of the Ghetto," and "If I Love You."
