Sivuca was a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist, known for his skills on the accordion, piano, keyboards, and guitar, as well as being a composer and arranger. He was born on May 26, 1930, in Itabaiana, Brazil, and passed away on December 14, 2006, in João Pessoa, Brazil. Sivuca lived in Europe, specifically in Portugal and France, from 1959 until the mid-1960s, and later moved to the USA, where he resided from 1965 to 1977 before returning to his native country. He served as a musical director for several years and collaborated with various artists. Throughout his career, he recorded as a leader for labels such as Reprise, Vanguard, RCA, and Sonet.
