Skilda is an emerging name in the Celtic music scene, known for their innovative sound showcased in their debut album "13 Dreams." The band consists of talented musicians who share a commitment to reinterpreting traditional material. Naia Wolf, the vocalist, hails from Limerick, born to an Irish father and a Breton mother. Immersed in a musical family, she began playing the harp at six and was influenced by artists like De Danan, Planxty, and Joan Baez. After moving to Brittany at seven, she embraced Breton culture, later returning to Limerick for university, where she began performing. Her journey has taken her across Europe, with a deep admiration for Dolores Kean. Konan Erwan, who plays pipes, whistles, and programming, comes from a musical Breton family. He initially learned the pipes in a pipe band and studied under renowned Pipe Master Ian Morrisson in the Isle of Lewis. His experiences in the Hebrides inspired him to create unique loops and samples from natural sounds, forming a crucial part of the band's foundation. He has toured globally with various top Breton bands and employs a special set of midi pipes. Aly Balder, the guitarist, crafted his first guitar at five and has been playing ever since.
