Skinny Puppy was a Canadian band formed in late 1982 in Vancouver, BC, consisting of members on keyboards and percussion and vocals. They secured a contract through their demo tape "Back And Forth" and released their first EP, "Remission," in 1984, with their records being distributed in Europe. Their first LP, "Bites," came out in 1985, featuring a new member known as on keyboards. In 1986, Schroeder was replaced on keyboards by a member from another group. Over a career spanning more than 20 years and numerous releases, Skinny Puppy has remained influential in the industrial/gothic/EBM genre, inspiring acts such as and. The band disbanded temporarily after the death of Goettel from an overdose in August 1995. Their final album, "The Process," was completed and released in early 1996, garnering new fans. The band reformed in 2000 for a one-off concert at the Doomsday festival in Dresden, Germany, which was later released as "Back And Forth, Vol. 5" in 2001. After years of anticipation, their first studio album post-reformation, "The Greater Wrong Of The Right," was released in 2004, followed by a worldwide tour and a DVD documenting the North American leg.
