Skull Valley is a musical project that originated in 1997, initially performing extended live sets in chill rooms at Arizona raves. The project consists of Tom Chasteen and features a rotating cast of collaborators, most notably George Nardo on slide guitars and Eddie Ruscha on vocals and guitars. Skull Valley is known for blending influences from dub, rock, and dance music, incorporating organic instrumentation and live vocals into sample-based music. This innovative approach to musical production was ahead of its time for 1997 and remained largely unique until the emergence of acts like Innerzone Orchestra and Amorphous Androgynous, who later crossed boundaries in their own ways.
