Slayer is a thrash metal band hailing from Huntington Park, California, USA, formed in 1981. The original lineup included guitarists, a drummer, and a vocalist who also played bass. In January 2018, the band announced their disbandment following a final tour that concluded in November 2019. However, in February 2024, Slayer revealed plans for a reunion, scheduled for three festival shows in September and October 2024. It is important to note that Slayer should not be confused with other bands of the same name from Texas, Arizona, and the United Kingdom, which sometimes leads fans to search for older demo material from the band.
