Slik was a Scottish pop, glam, and bubblegum band formed in Glasgow in November 1974. Originally known as Salvation, the band underwent lineup changes, including the replacement of drummer Matt Cairns and keyboardist Robin Birrel. Following the departure of a member for a solo career, only bassist and guitarist from the original Salvation lineup remained. They were marketed as a glam pop band based on their label's instructions. After the failure of their debut single "The Boogiest Band In Town," they changed labels and scored their No.1 hit "Forever And Ever" in 1976. In March 1977, bassist left the band and was briefly replaced, but this lineup did not last long. After changing their name for a punk single in 1977, they disbanded. Some members went on to join other bands, with one replacing a member in 1980, while others continued as a group with a new singer-guitarist.
