Smif-N-Wessun is a Brooklyn-based hip-hop group composed of members Tek and Steele, originating from the Bedford Stuyvesant "Bucktown" section. They are part of the Boot Camp Clique and first gained recognition on Black Moon's classic debut album, Enta Da Stage, featuring on tracks like "U Da Man" and the iconic "Black Smif-N-Wessun." Following the release of their debut LP, Dah Shinin', they encountered legal issues with the gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson Firearms, which led them to change their name to the Cocoa Brovaz.
