Snapped Ankles is an East London-based band formed in 2011 by Austin, Zampirolo, and Sol Haim. They began their journey performing at DIY nights, creating live improvisations by manipulating 1960s films and enhancing them with synthesizers. Austin developed a series of Log Synths, which are primitive percussion synthesizers, to contribute to their distinctive live performances. In 2012, they welcomed synth wizard Chestnutt into the group and released their debut single, "True Ecology (Shit Everywhere)." Their next release came in early 2015 with "I Want My Minutes Back," initially issued on white label and later reissued in 2017 by The Leaf Label. In June 2017, they released their 12-inch EP, The Best Light Is The Last Light, followed by their debut album, Come Play the Trees, in September. For Record Store Day 2018, Snapped Ankles released a covers EP titled Violations, featuring tracks by The Fugs, Can, Comateens, and Joey Beltram. The band’s second album, Stunning Luxury, was released in 2019, accompanied by extensive touring with Ursula Russell on drums and JD Parry on bass. Their third album, Forest Of Your Problems, was written during the Covid-19 pandemic and released in July 2021, showcasing Austin on vocals, log synths, guitars, and organs, with Chestnutt on synths and logs,
