Snookum Russell, born on April 6, 1913, in Columbia, South Carolina, was an American pianist renowned for leading a territory band that performed in tobacco warehouses and dance halls across the South and Midwest during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. He passed away in August 1981.
