Soft Location is an American band hailing from Detroit, originally formed by Kathy Leisen and Matt Kantor in New York City. After Kathy returned to Detroit, she connected with drummer Chris Morris, and together they recorded a collection of 4-track demos titled "Spring And Summer," which they planned to self-release. Kathy later met Ben Good, whose synth artistry contributed to the evolving sound of Soft Location. The band played several shows and house parties while preparing to release a full-length album. Eventually, Kathy convinced original bass player Matt Kantor to return to Detroit and rejoin the band.
