Soft Metals is an electronic duo consisting of Ian Hicks and Patricia Hall, based in Portland, Oregon. Formed in April 2009, they share a passion for late 70s to early 80s analog synthesizer music. Their sound is influenced by experimental noise, avant-garde, early industrial music, minimal synth, 1980s Chicago house, synth pop, and italo disco. Soft Metals creates dark, romantic electronic dance music by building their songs from moody, experimental, and improvised sessions, embracing a variety of influences in their work.
