Sol Banda was formed after the dissolution of their previous band in the late 1970s. The lead vocalist, along with some original members, decided to create a new group following the departure of the former band's keyboard player and musical arranger, who went on to form his own band. Sol Banda achieved semi-success and became known for covering international hit songs from various genres, sung in Spanish. However, like their predecessor, Sol Banda also disbanded in the early 1980s, leading to the formation of a new band under a different name.
