Solanaceae Tau was a German band and art project based in Frankfurt (Main), active primarily in the DIY underground since around 1986. Known for their anarcho-leftwing oriented lyrics, they blended cold electronic beats with female vocals, tape collages, and occasional guitars. This unique combination positioned them at the intersection of genres such as Minimal, Experimental Electronic, Industrial, Neo Folk, and Darkwave. The project officially concluded in 2022 following the untimely death of its musical head, Andreas Kirchner.
