Son House was an American blues singer and guitarist born on March 21, 1902, in Riverton, Mississippi. He passed away on October 19, 1988, in Detroit, Michigan. House was known for pioneering an innovative style of blues characterized by strong, repetitive rhythms, often enhanced by slide guitar. His singing also incorporated elements of southern gospel and spiritual music.
