Sonmi451 is an artist based in Hasselt, Belgium, known for creating a unique blend of minimal, soundscape-laden atmospheric electronics. The name is inspired by a character from David Mitchell's novel "Cloud Atlas," which is set in a dystopian future Korea called "Nea So Copros." In the story, Sonmi451 is a genetically-engineered fabricant who works as a server in an underground diner and seeks enlightenment amidst the oppressive regime that exploits her kind.
