The Sons of Champlin is an American rock band formed in the late 1960s, originating from the San Francisco-Bay area. The band is fronted by vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist Bill Champlin, who was also a member of another rock band. The group has been active in several periods: from 1965 to 1970, again from 1971 to 1977, in 1985, and continuously since 1997. Current members include Carmen Grillo (since 2005), Geoffrey Palmer (since 1967), David Schallock (since 1971), and Bill Champlin (since 1965). The band has seen several past members, including James Preston (1971-2015), Tim Cain (1965–1970), Terry Haggerty (1965–1977, 1997–2001), and others who contributed to its legacy.
