Sophy, born Sophy Hernández in Aguadilla, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter known for her contributions to Latin music. She began her career on a television program produced by Tommy Muñiz. In the late 1960s, she moved to New York, where she performed with Tito Puente and recorded her first albums, achieving significant success throughout Latin America. Later, she recorded several albums in Venezuela. She is also known as Sophy de Puerto Rico.
