Sperrmüll was formed in early 1971, originating from various Beat bands in the Aachen area of Germany. The initial lineup included Udo Hager and other members, but after Hager and an unknown organist left, the remaining members completed the group. Sperrmüll recorded one album and was preparing for a promotional tour when keyboardist Schneider was compelled by his parents to finish school. This led to the group's split shortly after the missed tour.
