Spot (born July 1, 1951 – died March 4, 2023) was an American record producer renowned for his role as the house producer and engineer for a prominent independent punk record label. He briefly played bass for a band called Panic, which later changed its name. Between 1978 and 1985, Spot recorded, mixed, produced, or co-produced for most of SST's acts, contributing to albums by various influential bands. He also produced several acts outside of SST. Later in his career, Spot retired from producing to focus on performing.
