Spotch Forcey was a French duo consisting of Jean-Marie Boehm (aka Paul Spotch) and Gilles Dumont (aka Ymont Forcey), active from 1979 to 1989. They began their musical journey by creating tape music at Radio Chateau in Paris 14ème, initially collaborating with a third member, Simon Boehm (aka producer Bigornö). In 1980, they began contemplating the release of a record, which they recorded in January and February 1981 in an apartment in Paris 13ème using two Révox B77 machines. They self-released the record in 500 copies and distributed it independently, even placing copies on Fnac's shelves without authorization. Their track "Frustré" achieved notable success, reaching the top 6 in a talent competition on France Inter hosted by Patrice Blanc-Francard during his Bananas radio show. The EP's title references a performance as Spotch-Forcey Team Equipe at the Théatre Accidentel in Antony (Hauts-de-Seine). The duo evolved into a performance act with Le Mange Bande in March 1982 and performed on December 21, 1982, at the Théâtre Firmin Gémier in Antony for a benefit organized by Radio Antenne 94.5.
