Steady Wailin' Sid, whose real name was Sidney, was a multifaceted individual who passed away at the age of 82 on November 29, 2018. Hailing from Evansville, Indiana, he had a dual career as a Black journalist and soul singer. Sidney owned a Black weekly newspaper in Evansville and also ran the Kitty Kat nightclub on Riverside Drive. He was an accomplished writer, reporter, historian, businessman, entrepreneur, entertainer, musician, performer, producer, songwriter, and publisher.
