Stefan Kisielewski was a prominent Polish composer, music critic, prose writer, publicist, and pedagogue, born on March 7, 1911, in Warszawa, and passed away on September 27, 1991, in the same city. He graduated from the Warsaw Conservatory in music theory (1934) and composition (1937), studying under Kazimierz Sikorski, and completed piano studies with Jerzy Lefeld in 1937. Additionally, he pursued Polish philology and philosophy at Warsaw University from 1929 to 1931. Kisielewski continued his composition studies in Paris from 1938 to 1939 and participated in underground music activities during the Nazi occupation. In 1945, he founded the periodical "Ruch Muzyczny," serving as editor-in-chief until 1948, and taught theoretical subjects at the State Higher School of Music in Cracow from 1945 to 1949. He was active as a commentator, writing feuilletons for "Tygodnik Powszechny" since 1945, along with critical articles and essays on music. Kisielewski authored numerous books on musical subjects and literary works, some published under the pen names Teodor Klon and Tomasz Staliński. He was an MP in the Parliament of the People's Republic of Poland from 1957 to 1965 and toured the United States, Canada, France, England, Italy
