Stephen Brown, often credited as Steve Brown, was a British record label executive, artist manager, and producer, who passed away on December 24, 2017, at the age of 72. He played a significant role in Elton John's early career and began his professional journey in 1966. Brown worked as a music coordinator for Elton John from around 1969 to 1976, during which he produced his first album and held coordination and management roles for various artists. He served as the head of a record label, assisted by others, and co-founded another label in 1972. After stepping away from the music industry between 1976 and 1986, he returned to manage Elton John again from approximately 1986 until at least 1995. Throughout his career, he owned multiple ventures in the music industry.
