Peter-Paul Pigmans, known as 3 Steps Ahead, was a prominent figure in the gabber and hardcore music scene. Born on January 31, 1961, he began his music career in 1993 with productions for Rave Records and Hard Stuff Records under the aliases The Illegal Alien and Silverbells. In 1994, he was invited by ID&T to produce for their label, adopting the name 3 Steps Ahead for his collaborations with Rob Fabrie (DJ Waxweazle) and Ed Bout (Holographic). However, the partnership did not flourish, resulting in only two records, "Step 1" and "Step 2". Peter-Paul continued under the 3 Steps Ahead name, while Rob and Ed pursued separate paths. His breakout hit came with the release of "Drop It," his first solo CD-single. Prior to this, he created the megamix for Thunderdome VI, known as the Hardcore-Sex mix. In 1997, he released his debut album, "Most Wanted & Mad," which achieved significant success in the Dutch album charts. His second album, "Junkie 4 Life," was released in 2000, shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer in 1999. Peter-Paul welcomed his daughter, Lara Jill, in January 1998, and his son, Ender Jamie, was born just before the turn of the millennium. Ender was named after "Ender Wiggins,"
