Stereolab is a band that formed in London in 1990, created by a record collector born in 1964 and a French chanteuse born in 1968. They were active until 2009 before going into a ten-year hiatus. In 2019, they reunited for live performances and launched a year-long reissue campaign for seven of their albums. In 2025, they are set to release their first newly recorded material since 2009/10. The band has seen various members over the years, including guitarists and vocalists who contributed from 1990 to 2009 and resumed in 2019. They had a member from 1993 to 1994 who later made guest appearances on subsequent records. Other roles in the band included bassists, drummers, and keyboardists who played from the early '90s through to the late 2000s and beyond. A horn player was also part of the band from 2006 to 2009.
