Steve Arrington is an American soul singer born on March 5, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio. He began his musical journey with the group Young Mystics before moving to San Francisco after their disbandment. Arrington joined the band Slave in 1978, initially as a background singer, and later became the lead vocalist, contributing to hits like "Just A Touch Of Love," "Watching You," and "Wait For Me." In 1983, he left Slave to form his own band, Steve Arrington's Hall of Fame. He recorded for Kongflather and Atlantic, achieving notable success with his 1985 album, "Dancin' In The Key Of Life," which featured a Top 10 R&B hit with the title track and the Top 20 single "Feel So Real." After experiencing a religious conversion in 1986, Arrington began incorporating his beliefs into his performances and eventually left pop music in 1991 to focus on his spirituality. He made a return to the music scene in 2009 with the self-released album "Pure Thang," followed by a collaboration with Dam-Funk in 2013, and in 2021, he released an album of songs recorded from 2019 to 2020 through Stones Throw.
