Steve Douglas was an American saxophonist, flautist, and clarinetist, as well as a producer and composer, best known for his work as a session musician in Los Angeles. Born on September 24, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, he passed away on April 19, 1993, in the same city. Douglas served as a staff producer for Capitol Records and was the A&R head for Mercury Records on the West Coast. He was also a co-owner of a label and a Los Angeles studio. In 2003, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Sidemen category. He was related to the label Arkay and the publisher.
