Steve Grossman was a jazz saxophonist born on January 18, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York City. He passed away on August 13, 2020, in Glen Cove, New York. Initially starting in jazz fusion, he became most known for his contributions to hard bop. Throughout his career, Grossman performed and recorded with notable musicians, including Miles Davis and Elvin Jones. His debut record, "Some Shapes To Come," was released in 1974.
