Steve Karmen, born on January 31, 1937, in the Bronx, New York, is a renowned composer best known for his work in radio jingles. Throughout the 1960s, he also composed music scores for motion pictures and briefly performed as a Calypso singer, gaining some recognition in Trinidad. Karmen has an extensive catalog of jingles written and composed by himself from 1968 to the early 1980s. Among his most notable works are the New York State song "I Love New York," the jingle "Here Comes the King," the Exxon Song (1976), and "Wrigley Spearmint Gum / Carry The Big Fresh Flavor" (1973).
