Steve Martin is an American actor, comedian, writer, playwright, producer, musician, and composer, born on August 14, 1945, in Waco, Texas. He gained prominence as a writer for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and became a regular guest on The Tonight Show. In the 1970s, Martin captivated audiences with his offbeat, absurdist comedy routines during national tours. Since the 1980s, he has shifted away from stand-up comedy to achieve success as an actor, playwright, pianist, banjo player, and juggler. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades, including Emmy, Grammy, and American Comedy awards.
